The garlic stripper, and other news

I thought you should know, I bought a garlic stripper. It dances on a garlic pole and wears clear plastic garlic heels. Actually, you can roll a clove of garlic in the stripper and the skin comes off the garlic. Isn't that nice? It works very well.

My website is up and running - it's just to show people when I'm teaching. D wanted to show it to a web designer friend of his so it may be tweaked, but I actually like it as it is. Here's the link: katieyoga.com.

There's an additional class I'm teaching tomorrow which I didn't put up because it's at a "private club" - members only. My goodness! I'm probably going to be kicking myself tomorrow for agreeing to teach it, because it's at 7 am. But it can only help my sleep schedule.

Funny thing... I pulled up your site and I was thinking who's Katie? Like I expected it to say Bearette. :)

Cute website! Simple, yet informative....and nothing dancing around on the screen(those things drive me crazy). If I ever make it to NYC maybe I'll have to drop into one of your classes. :)

I've never heard of a garlic stripper. I've always just smashed the clove with the flat side of one of those large Henkel knives - usually does the trick. And I always press the garlic to get the most out of it. I LOVE garlic - there can never be too much.

I like your site. Yes, I was surprised to see Katie, too! Good luck with 7 AM - yuck!

Vegetable personalities

At the risk that you'll all think I'm nuts...but heck. I was getting cauliflower ready for dinner and it occurred to me that vegetables have different personalities. In my mind, anyway. Zucchini: the most agreeable of vegetables. It blends in with everyone, but it's never obsequious or false to itself. Sweet potatoes: the grandmother of vegetables. Very cozy and welcoming. The return of Rudolph

Rudolph is our small furry friend, whom I've never seen. He visited the kitchen last night while D was up late. I know this because: 1) A large sonic device is plugged in right in front of the crack between the oven and the wall. The sonic devices in the living room have kept Rudolph away from there, his previous hideaway. Apparently the cracks between appliances and the wall are harder to reach. 2) The mop has been moved from the hall closet to the kitchen closet. This means D tried to capture Rudolph. 3) A turtle magnet I haven't seen in a while is now on the fridge. That means it fell behind the oven and D found it during his interactions with Rudolph. (I am praying hard that Rudolph is a boy, since we don't want to find many small Rudolphs.) What makes me feel better about this whole thing is that mice are apparently everywhere this winter; even my brother has had problems with them. happy birthday e!

[Posted by Bearette's husband until she has Internet access] e was born today! 8 pounds even, a cute and healthy baby boy. He likes to stick out his tongue just a little, and move his mouth around. The hospital gave him a little white hat with a purple pom pom. Bearette is tired but happy. Pictures soon.
