So D and I went over and voted for Hillary today. Did you vote? If so, for whom? (And if you don't like talking politics, no need to reveal. But I am curious.)

I feel like there is an excitement in the air surrounding this election. People are ready for change, or, to use Obama's buzzword, "hope." D says he has a very good PR team -- it's recommended to brand yourself with a single word. I do like him, and he's probably the "coolest" candidate in recent years (I think he has a rock-star image) but I just feel more comfortable with Hillary somehow, like she has more experience with the White House.

Apparently Barack won in Georgia, but the polls are still open in most states.

I didn't vote because I'm technically still a Florida resident, and I didn't get around to trying to do an absentee ballot for primaries (I don't even know how to do it). However, I think I'll be happy with either Hillary or Obama, but my prediction will be that Hillary will run with Obama as her running mate.

I miss John Edwards. He was my man.

Kitkat - it was interesting, John Edwards was the only Democratic candidate (other than Hillary and Obama) who had a list of delegates. I guess Kucinich, Richardson and Biden didn't bother.

I guess he dropped out too recently to get off the ballot.

We don't get to vote until March 4th. I mostly agree with you about Barack. At first, I liked his demeanor and it seemed as if he was really genuine. But the more I see of him and the more comparisons I make between Barack and Hillary, the more he seems like just another cheesy politician who doesn't want to discuss the real issues. And when he does, I don't like any of his plans. It looks as if I'm going with Hillary all the way.

Also, I find it interesting how most people (me included) refer to Hillary using her first name rather than her last. Is this because it helps distinguish her from the previous Clinton or because she's female? Who knows.

I voted for Hillary today as well.

I feel the same way about Obama. Either one would be ok but I think that Hillary would hit the ground running and would most likely be able to get things done faster because of her experience in the White House.

Both Mike and I are planning to vote for Hillary.

Can you imagine, a woman in the White House? I am thrilled by the mere possibility.

I went with Obama (although in CA Hillary beat up on him out here). Since 1980 either a Bush or Clinton has been in the White House, and even though I think she has better formulated policies, I just can't go with yet another one of those two families. Plus, I think if she is the democratic nominee that McCain will demolish her. Obama would at least give him at fight.

Since 1989, right? I thought it was Jimmy Carter in 1980.

I'm voting for Hillary in our primaries in March! I'm hoping Mike will forget to change his license to TX so that he can't vote :) Yes, I am inferring he probably won't be voting for Hillary. I, too, am thrilled at the possibility of a woman in the white house.

Sounds like a plan...you can "forget" to remind him ;)

Actually, Carter won in 1976. Reagan won the presidency in 1980. I believe Amy was referring to Bush I who was Reagan's vice president through 1988.

One fun thing about aging (I'll try to look for more of them) is being old enough to think back and remember political facts that a lot of folks will have to look to their teachers to recount.

Really? Wikipedia said about Jimmy Carter:

In office
January 20, 1977 – January 20, 1981

That's where I got my info - I can't remember back that far ;) I remember Reagan being in office when I was a little girl, and that's about it.
