Tonight D and I visited Rainer. He was quite glad to see me, and rubbed his head across the front of my jean jacket. He also looked at my hair as if he might want to eat it. He didn't, but some dogs actually do that (especially pugs).

He stayed on my lap so long, snoring gently, that my legs fell completely asleep and I had to grab onto D's hand to get up. At the bookstore, D purchased Paddington on Top, a non-sexual book about Paddington Bear. He read me bits on the way home. I didn't know Paddington was from "darkest Peru," did you?

Near our apartment, we saw a guy wearing a fluffy red felt hat with dice markings. It was probably inspired by Mystery; he recommends wearing unusual hats as a way to stand out. But if everyone takes his advice, the hats will become the norm, and presumably no longer effective.

You could start knitting funky hats, sell them to desperate guys, and then chuckle at them while they try to pick up girls. :)

Enterprising :)

Do you remember those really hideous crocheted hats in the 70's? They had cut in half beer cans decorating them all the way around. Or was that only a trend in Podunk, Maine?

I don't remember those particular ones, but my brother did have a non-crocheted hat in college with cups for beer cans. So no, it wasn't just Maine :)

The only time Elmo would try to eat my hair was when I used a special product that had a strong mint smell to it. The catnip plant is part of the mint family, so anything mint or peppermint smelling or tasting would really draw his interest. Even when I made peppermint tea! lol

Maybe I should tease Rainer with some peppermints ;)

Now that you mention Peruvian Paddington, it does sound familiar, but I probably would have guessed he was British since he seemed like such a snappy dresser with his little coat :)

I think the author is British, and of course, Paddington Station...but I guess he wanted to give the bear exotic roots ;)
