Rainer II

So I met a cat as friendly as Rainer today. She looked different, with butterscotch fur, very fluffy, and topaz-colored eyes, but she started kneading me right away. On my bare leg. I saw what Liz meant -- it hurts! So I have to assume that Rainer's claws are clipped, as Kitkat suggested, or else he is very talented ;)

Remember the fruit man who calls me ma'am? I can't hold it against him, for he was kind enough to hold my library books as I looked through my wallet to pay for my peaches. I was about to put the books down on a crate, but he scooped them up!

The kitty sounds like it looks like my Joey!

Our new kitty, Menchi, loves to knead with her claws out. She tends to "make biscuits," as we call it, on the part of my chest that's exposed from my tank top every single time. It hurts! Sometimes I wonder if she isn't jealous that I'm the "alpha" when it comes to DH--she is pretty possessive of him.

How nice of the fruit man! I know what you mean about being called ma'am, though. I'm not that old! But, you know, it is nice to be treated with courtesy, which is how I view it when someone calls me ma'am. You just don't get that very often these days, in my opinion.

I'm quite the verbose one, aren't I? :)

It was a fun comment ;)

I agree, I think the fruit man was just trying to be polite. Does your cat ever leave scratch marks when she kneads?

You are most definitely not a maam.

Some cats are more "kneady" than others. One of my cats kneads everytime she wants to take a nap while the other doesn't do it much at all. I've never gotten real scratch marks, but then again, I don't let her do it for very long when I'm unprotected.

C - thanks!

K - I think this one must have had exceptionally long claws. After I moved away, she started kneading my Strand bag, which was lying on the sidewalk. I've never gotten marks from Rainer but I have little scratches from the cat today.

It could also be that that I get scratches from my cats pretty often from just regular playing, so maybe I just don't notice them all that much anymore.

My skin used to get red and blotchy when Muffin kneaded me... but I have sensitive skin. I used to put a blanket under his paws as a barrier. :)

Liz - that's what happened to me! The blotches have faded a bit, fortunately.
