"Catch and release...honor the fish"

So we saw You, Me and Dupree tonight...and what can I say? It rocked. And I'm not the only one who feels this way...I overheard an enthusiastic "That was good" as we left.

It took a little while to get going, but there were some truly hilarious situations and great lines, and Michael Douglas plays Matt Dillon's father-in-law with his trademark tough-guy croak, and Owen Wilson carried the movie superbly.

It gets the Bearette stamp of approval...A+. Okay, maybe A, if only because it was marred by a Boring Reconciliation Scene (BRS) between Kate Hudson and Matt Dillon.

The movie looks like it would be funny. I just saw Owen Wilson on The Daily Show Thursday night. I like him. He was pretty funny.

It looked really funny in the previews! I also want to see Superman. I don't usually like action movies, but I like the superhero stories for some reason.

I'm making your rigatoni recipe tonight. :)

What good news?

Where did I miss the good news entry?

Thanks for the movie review. Real people always review better than the critics.

And I love recipe postings. I use the honey/soy/thai chili sauce recipe a lot.

I made the one with the zucchini. I doubled the tomatoes and stole D's idea for a fresh mozarella garnish.

It was delish.

You know I love your recipe posts...they've made our household a much more vegetarian place!

We took your review to heart and saw You, Me and D - we LOVED it! Thanks for the suggestion!

Did Kate Hudson and Matt Dillon have any chemistry between them? That's not a romantic pairing I would make if I were in charge of casting. It almost brings to mind the on-screen travesty America's Sweethearts where John Cusack had far more chemistry with Catherine Zeta-Jones than he did with Julia Roberts.

I do want to see it because Owen Wilson cracks me up, so does his brother, Luke, for that matter-- but Owen much moreso. I think ever since Armageddon-- I thought the film was basically a lowest common denominator big Hollywood action film, but Owen Wilson and Steve Buscemi made it at least tolerable for me.

Liz - groovy! I might make it again tonight :)

NM - glad you liked it!

Perplexio - i agree, i like owen much better than luke. matt dillon & kate hudson didn't have a ton of chemistry...she had more with owen. i can see how john cusack and julia roberts definitely would not work!

The only redeeming quality about the film America's Sweethearts was Hank Azaria's really bad fake accent was absolutely hilarious. His scenes were the only ones worth watching. And I'm normally a huge John Cusack fan. Unfortunately he's had a few duds-- Pushing Tin also comes to mind.
