Today I discovered the beauty of in-house sling use. I was able to eat my cereal (albeit with one hand). I love the sling. I do recommend getting it a couple of sizes too small, as D's cousin did for me. Then you don't have to support it so much. I still cradle it with one arm for safety's sake, but it's a nice snug fit.

Yesterday baby was circumcised. I have little to say about this trauma except (a) it's over, (b) his penis looks less angry now, and (c) I believe it was the right thing to do, although I felt terrible at the time.

I've heard the slings are wonderful. I see lots of happy babies in them at the store all the time.

You'll be a pro at doing things one-handed in no time.

I'm not sure I would know what an angry penis would look like. lol

find yourself a baby wearing group and ask their advice. if you have to support it with your hands, it's not on right. (I have a friend who runs the group here, I could ask her for you if she knows of a group where you are.)

Also, I don't want to open a can of worms but I wonder what your reasons were for circ. we didn't, and I am always worried we made the wrong choice.

i didn't mean to sound so curt about the sling, i'm sorry. Gen is just so adamant about it.

Suzy - very red! But it's calmed down now.

BB - I can actually do it without my hands, I'm just paranoid. As I get more comfortable, I'll support it less often. The circ - such a charged topic - I just think it's easier to keep clean, and as D points out, men are not always good at keeping clean. Plus, I didn't have a huge choice in the matter b/c D really wanted him to be circumcised, though he also felt bad about it.

yeah. i told H that it was pretty much up to him. he opted no, but second-guesses himself constantly. only about that, i mean.
