Well, I went to the grocery store for the first time postpartum, and it felt great. The fruit display felt like an old friend :) The store is only 2 blocks away, but it was so nice to not be helpless and get the food myself. And now, instead of people asking, "Any minute now?" and "Twins?", they say, "You had your baby!" It is a VAST IMPROVEMENT.

I am also here to tell you that the postpartum body is not as bad as feared...they have a number of "scare sites" out there. Well, I basically look the same as I did before, except I still have a little belly, and of course a bigger chest (though the nursing bras flatten it out a bit, in the name of support!) I have a few teeny-weeny stretch marks that no one else would ever be able to find - I practically need a magnifying glass. Thanks to cocoa butter, or heredity, I guess. So if you're pregnant, don't be afraid of the aftermath. Your belly will get smaller every day, if you're breastfeeding, anyway.

I already have stretch marks from years of being big then thinner, big then thinner, so I'm not even a little worried about that side effect. ;)

YAY to no more assaults from strangers!

I think the fact that you exercised and ate so healthy played a huge part in your post-baby body.

I just finished my second creme horn of the day so you can only imagine my post-baby body. Snort.

A few months ago I saw someone suggest an excellent site for women to help them accept their post pregnancy bodies. I guess to some it might seem like a "scare site" as their have been a few comments I've seen that would suggest that. But the majority of the people are so supportive and it has really changed how I look at myself. Let's just say that you would definitely NOT need a microscope to see the effects that my darling children left on me. ;) I'm glad that you were one of the lucky ones. I'm sure your little belly will go away in no time once you can get back in the pool and yoga.

Now all the attention will go to E (when he's out and about with you). :)

Oops. There instead of their.

Yes, attention going to E is fantastic!

Roxanne - I wanted to ask you, is the quilt machine washable? I'd like to wrap E in it soon, but I don't want to ruin it.

Like caro said, I'm sure how well you take care of yourself has a lot to do with your post-preg body. I, on the other hand, didn't need to get pregnant to have stretch marks! lol

My sister, who is like a size 0, has stretch marks. On her thighs. From having huge muscles from playing basketball. Don't tell her I told you though.
: )
So you are quite lucky to be skinny minnie again already and with no after effects!
I hope I'm so lucky... if I ever have kiddos.

I forgot to email you about that. Yes, it is machine washable. In fact it will get more soft and cuddly with each washing. I washed it once before sending it to wash out the white pencil markings on the black fabric (to mark the lines to be quilted).
