So I got at least 6, maybe 8, hours sleep last night - it's hard to add it all up when it's so fragmented - but I'm grateful anyway. Still, it may be taking a bit of a toll...I went to the library to return a book and pick up some that were waiting for me...and I passed a mailbox along the way.

Yup.

I opened the mailbox and was about to drop the book in when the author photograph confronted me. I saw Jhumpa Lahiri staring up at me and realized, "This is not mail."

Good save.

Coincidentally, I didn't read the book...it was too moody for me. I read Lauren Weisberger's new novel instead. It was fun.

dude, you can't read real books with an infant in the house. trust me. with primo, i read ed mcbain's entire oeuvre; i am working my way thru laura lippman's mysteries with this bebe. and I have done that thing with the mailbox so don't feel bad.

Really?? (with the mailbox)
I agree. I can't read anything at all heavy right now.

Wouldn't that have been an amusing thing to find in your mailbox? A random library book? lol

Makes me tempted to do it to someone, although I guess I wouldn't have a good way of knowing what happens. lol

Oh, this was one of those public mailboxes. The mailman would have been surprised, though!

My sister calls that 'baby brain'. It's supposed to last from ten months to a year.

Okay, dropping the library book in the mailbox would have been pretty funny. Whatever you do, don't drop your keys in a dumpster. When I was living in an apartment, anytime I had my keys in one hand and my garbage in the other, I was always tempted to toss the keys in and keep the garbage :)

Ah, the joy of fatigue. It gets better I promise.

This is my second time reading this post because I didn't want to mark it as new in my feed reader. Gold star, Bearette. :D

Oops, I meant I didn't want to mark it as *read* in my feed reader.

Silly Poppy.

Don't feel bad. I went to the library the other day and instead of dropping my book in the drop, I threw it into a nearby trashcan.

And my baby's not even born yet!
