So, this is really horrible. I'm without a book! At least a good one. I tried The Postmistress and Mennonite in a Little Black Dress. No go. They weren't terrible books, they just weren't for me. So I took a bath (the shower is going to get fixed tomorrow, as long as maintenance can figure out what's wrong with it) and E had great fun plunging empty baby bottles into the bath, filling them and pouring them onto the floor. The place was a little, um, soaked when he was done.

There are many things I can do instead of read, including:
  • go to Macy's to buy new underwear (the elastic is shot)
  • buy groceries
  • buy vitamins
  • faff around on Facebook, which I've already done.

Have you read "A Reliable Wife"? It's pretty depressing, but I found it hard to put down.

I tried that one. I got about 50 pages in and had to stop. It just seemed like the characters were flat or something. What happened in the end??

I know what you mean. The characters were a bit difficult to get to know. But it did have a happy ending. They both had a secret agenda, but they ended up caring for each other.

I read Juliet...it was good. I ended up reading a mystery yesterday and will probably read another one next. They're a good fallback when there are no novels around.

Speaking of faffing around, are you still knitting? Also, are you on Ravelry by any chance? My friend Tracy kept wanting me to join, and I have, but now I don't really get what I'm supposed to do while I'm there other than upload photos of my projects :/

Kate - I haven't knitted in ages. I would like to knit something soon, though. I saw a shrug on the Malabrigo Yarn fan page at FB that I like. I'm not on Ravelry.

Vegetable personalities

At the risk that you'll all think I'm nuts...but heck. I was getting cauliflower ready for dinner and it occurred to me that vegetables have different personalities. In my mind, anyway. The return of Rudolph

Rudolph is our small furry friend, whom I've never seen. He visited the kitchen last night while D was up late. I know this because: 1) A large sonic device is plugged in right in front of the crack between the oven and the wall. The sonic devices in the living room have kept Rudolph away from there, his previous hideaway. Apparently the cracks between appliances and the wall are harder to reach. 2) The mop has been moved from the hall closet to the kitchen closet. This means D tried to capture Rudolph. 3) A turtle magnet I haven't seen in a while is now on the fridge. That means it fell behind the oven and D found it during his interactions with Rudolph. (I am praying hard that Rudolph is a boy, since we don't want to find many small Rudolphs.) What makes me feel better about this whole thing is that mice are apparently everywhere this winter; even my brother has had problems with them. happy birthday e!

[Posted by Bearette's husband until she has Internet access] e was born today! 8 pounds even, a cute and healthy baby boy. He likes to stick out his tongue just a little, and move his mouth around. The hospital gave him a little white hat with a purple pom pom. Bearette is tired but happy. Pictures soon.
