Pop goes my heart

We just got back from Music and Lyrics, which I just loved! 5 stars and a total of four thumbs up (mine and D's). The title of this entry is taken from one of the songs in the movie. We enjoyed all the songs in the movie. I plan on getting the soundtrack :)

I would recommend it if you've liked any movie Hugh Grant was in...he does the same endlessly charming/dapper shtick with aplomb, and Drew is lovable as usual. The tall woman from Third Rock played Drew's sister...she is funny even without saying anything. Not in a bad way at all :)

There were a few interesting previews. Jerry Seinfeld is going to be the voice of a bee in an animated movie. There was also Knocked Up with Katherine Heigl from Grey's Anatomy (D said, "You can see that with one of your friends") and The Ex with Zach Braff and Amanda Peet (looked like it might be fun in a silly way). I'm not the biggest fan of Amanda, but Zach cancels her out.

Oohhh...I've been waiting to hear if Music and Lyrics is a good one or not. I have to check it out now!

Hope you've had a good weekend!

I was just wondering what to do over the weekend with the hubby. Now, I know. Thanks for the heads-up, beautiful! I trust your taste in movies. ;p

Thanks for the review. I love Drew and kinda like Hugh. Sounds like a winner. Now I just have to wait for it to hit the $1 theater. :)

I with you on the Amanda Peet thing. Ever since The Last Kiss, I can't stand her. I know, it was just a character. But I can't get it out of my head. I love Zach though. I think he's an excellent actor and cute too.

rox - you should definitely see it. i love the idea of a $1 theater. unfortunately i don't have one around :(

i don't think amanda was in the last kiss...it was rachel bilson, i think.

I'd like to knock up Katherine
Heigl.

I'm really enjoying Amanda Peet in Studio 60. I'm really enjoying Studio 60, for that matter. It's a great show.

I've never heard of Music and Lyrics, though.

Yowza!

It's a good movie, about a washed-up 80s musician who needs a lyricist.

Oops. I knew I didn't like Amanda Peet though. I tried watching Studio 60 and had to quit after the first few minutes. She just rubs me the wrong way.

rox - me too. i've never seen the show but she definitely rubs me the wrong way.

I love Drew, and I still have a little crush on Hugh.

Guess what! I saw a movie in the theater last week. Because I Said So. It was a little over the top, but funny.

So far I'm off to a decent start with movie-going in 2007. :D

I saw that one! I agree with your assessment. I thought Mandy Moore did a decent job, and Diane Keaton is always good.

And I have a little crush on Hugh as well :)

Now, that's just not right. I love Studio 60. It is the smartest and funniest show going on TV right now.

I am a big Drew Barrymore fan though. Not so much with Hugh though. He bombed in Mickey Blue Eyes
