Pink cardi

This is a pink cardigan I'm knitting. It's almost done. Usually, for better or worse, I'm a yarn snob and I insist on using wool instead of acrylic, but this time I broke my rules. I'm glad I did...this acrylic yarn is very soft and fluffy.

Gorgeous, warm color.. I bet they've improved acrylic over the years...Have u ever tried cashmere? just askin' if its possible/worth knitting with.

i made a hat once with a cashmere blend...but pure cashmere tends to be $40/80 yards, which is less than you need to make a hat...so for a sweater it would be astronomical...

I'm a yarn snob too. I try to stick to natural, or at least mostly natural, fibres. I just think it's nicer to say that something's made of wool or alpaca or whatever, than to say it's made of acrylic. lol

It's true. But this acrylic did win me over. I do have baby alpaca yarn for a pair of mittens, though. So soft!

Ooooh. Love the the cables. What pattern are you using?

I, too, am a yarn snob. I'll occasionally admit a non-natural fiber in a blend but tend to go for the all-natural stuff as much as I can.

What are some of your favorite yarns?

The pattern was Jewels by Amy King, in Knitty's first fall issue 2010...Malabrigo is my all-time favorite, but I also like Madeline Tosh and I'm going to try the Lion Brand baby alpaca soon...which ones do you like?

Debbie Bliss (especially Pure Cotton for baby stuff), Rowan (and not just for the name!), Cascade 220 for wool.
