Just slept for a good chunk of time, then I had to get up and pump. Finished watching Sex and the City (the movie). Really enjoyed it. I didn't get a chance to see it in the theaters because I gave birth 4 days after it came out.

D pretends not to like SATC for some reason. Maybe he thinks it would be unmanly. But he came over and watched the ending and then peppered me with questions. No one can resist well-done cheese. At one point, it almost brought tears to my eyes...Carrie behaved unselfishly for the first time ;)

I sort of pretend that I don't like SATC too. I'm not sure why. I treat it like a guilty pleasure. I guess I don't want to admit that I like girly stuff. I think I got a little messed up taking so much after my brother, who can be a bit of a misogynist. I'm a bit of a walking contradiction. As for D, I'd have to agree about the manliness question. If it makes him feel better, Rich went with me to aerobics last night :)

When we went to see the movie, it was actually DH who wanted to go. He'd been a fan since season 1, but I never had HBO so I only caught snippets here and there.

DH was probably one of seven guys in the entire theater - it was mostly girlfriends all dressed up. I wanted to yell, "MY HUSBAND WAS THE ONE WHO PUSHED TO SEE THIS MOVIE!" I really enjoyed it, though. :)

Hee...no. I thought she was over the top there.

It was the scene where she took the subway to Miranda's house. It was the first time I remembered her being as giving to her friends as they are to her.

Vegetable personalities

At the risk that you'll all think I'm nuts...but heck. I was getting cauliflower ready for dinner and it occurred to me that vegetables have different personalities. In my mind, anyway. Zucchini: the most agreeable of vegetables. It blends in with everyone, but it's never obsequious or false to itself. Sweet potatoes: the grandmother of vegetables. Very cozy and welcoming. The return of Rudolph

Rudolph is our small furry friend, whom I've never seen. He visited the kitchen last night while D was up late. I know this because: 1) A large sonic device is plugged in right in front of the crack between the oven and the wall. The sonic devices in the living room have kept Rudolph away from there, his previous hideaway. Apparently the cracks between appliances and the wall are harder to reach. 2) The mop has been moved from the hall closet to the kitchen closet. This means D tried to capture Rudolph. 3) A turtle magnet I haven't seen in a while is now on the fridge. That means it fell behind the oven and D found it during his interactions with Rudolph. (I am praying hard that Rudolph is a boy, since we don't want to find many small Rudolphs.) What makes me feel better about this whole thing is that mice are apparently everywhere this winter; even my brother has had problems with them. happy birthday e!

[Posted by Bearette's husband until she has Internet access] e was born today! 8 pounds even, a cute and healthy baby boy. He likes to stick out his tongue just a little, and move his mouth around. The hospital gave him a little white hat with a purple pom pom. Bearette is tired but happy. Pictures soon.
