So...no idea if I'll follow through with this or not...I was thinking about seeing how long I could go without buying clothes, yarn or books. I'm going to give it a try.

Today I watched The Last Days of Disco, directed by Walt Stillman. I think Chloe Sevigny is always good (although she definitely has an edge) and the director had a good feel for the ups/downs of female friendships, and their competitiveness, particularly in the early 20s. I also liked Metropolitan from the same director. So I added Barcelona (his third film) to my Netflix queue.

The baby question? I am kind of leaning toward yes. But I'm giving myself a number of months to think about it.

Well you could always go to the library for books, but there is no clothes or yarn library! Good luck.

Yay, more babies (maybe) :) You guys make very cute babies!

Before I moved here I used to try to go on "no-buys" but I always failed. Now I almost feel like I can't find anything I want to buy and things are so expensive here so I'm on a different type of restriction. I "window" shop online knowing it would be a pain to try and buy something (I can always have it shipped to my mom and have her send it). I haven't bought a clothes in three months and that's a first for me. I'm insanely addicted to buying items for my kitchen now so maybe I should try to stop there.

Vegetable personalities

At the risk that you'll all think I'm nuts...but heck. I was getting cauliflower ready for dinner and it occurred to me that vegetables have different personalities. In my mind, anyway. The return of Rudolph

Rudolph is our small furry friend, whom I've never seen. He visited the kitchen last night while D was up late. I know this because: 1) A large sonic device is plugged in right in front of the crack between the oven and the wall. The sonic devices in the living room have kept Rudolph away from there, his previous hideaway. Apparently the cracks between appliances and the wall are harder to reach. 2) The mop has been moved from the hall closet to the kitchen closet. This means D tried to capture Rudolph. 3) A turtle magnet I haven't seen in a while is now on the fridge. That means it fell behind the oven and D found it during his interactions with Rudolph. (I am praying hard that Rudolph is a boy, since we don't want to find many small Rudolphs.) What makes me feel better about this whole thing is that mice are apparently everywhere this winter; even my brother has had problems with them. happy birthday e!

[Posted by Bearette's husband until she has Internet access] e was born today! 8 pounds even, a cute and healthy baby boy. He likes to stick out his tongue just a little, and move his mouth around. The hospital gave him a little white hat with a purple pom pom. Bearette is tired but happy. Pictures soon.
