Love/hate relationship with travel

Part of me wants to see the world (or at least part of it). I'd like to go to Greece, Australia, Hawaii. I've already been to France, Italy, England, Ireland, Bahamas, Canada, California, Florida, etc. I have no interest in going to China, India or Africa.

This weekend I'm going to DC to see the pandas, cherry blossoms and a certain blogger mommy and baby. But I find myself discomfited because they probably don't have the yogurt I like in DC. It's called Wallaby.

It's probably no accident that The Accidental Tourist is one of my favorite books. It's about a guy who writes travel books that let people believe they never left home.

Update: It looks like the weather in DC this weekend will not be conducive to panda viewing or any outdoor activity...so we'll go later. Oh well. On the plus side, a beautiful baby slept for seven hours straight...

I want to see the world without traveling. I really want someone to invent a transporter. I hate the business of getting to a place, but I like seeing different places. I don't like being away from home, but if I stay somewhere long enough, I usually enjoy myself.

Yes! I hate the travel process, too. Though I like seeing the scenery from a train window.

I haven't been to Australia, but Hawaii and Greece were both great! I don't like the process of traveling either, but it's always been worth it once I get there. I am always glad to get back home too.

Lion is so upset, he refused to eat his lentils.

and AT is one of my all-time favorites, too. I enjoy traveling, but I think next time I'd rather go somewhere and stay put for a while, rather than moving on to a new town/city every 2-3 days. My current fantasy involves renting a little villa in Tuscany, maybe walking distance from Florence, and staying for a month.

Reality: road trip to Florida this June, which is also fun (but with less chianti and handmade pasta)

Hehe - but he hates them anyway, right?

I never turn down a trip to Florida :)
