Trader Joe pumpkin pancake mix

The Trader Joe pumpkin pancake mix is always in big demand. It hits the shelves in the fall. When I was at Trader Joe's recently, I spotted a guy in their trademark shirt and asked him, "Is the pumpkin pancake mix out yet?"

He glanced around and lowered his voice nervously. "If it's not out, I can't give it to you yet. But it should be out later tonight."

"Okay," I said, feeling like we had been discussing some popular but very illicit drug.

At a different Trader Joe's, I found the pumpkin pancake mix - but in a different form! Alas, it was now gluten free. I bought it anyway and tried it. The kids and I liked it (D doesn't eat pumpkin). But it flies off the shelves equally fast.

Maybe they could hold a lottery to buy it! We don't even have Trader Joe's near us.

Now I fear it is discontinued. Makes no sense because it was so popular. Do they have a TJ's in Philly?

I guess I'm similar to D as I'm not much of a pumpkin fan either. I'll eat it every once in a blue moon, but I don't get excited about it like so many others do.

Yes! There are several in the Philly area. I went there last week and bought some Turkish honey, they said it was a new item. I love it!

I was desperate for the pumpkin coffee- I finally got there around Oct 25 and they were clean out. I asked and they said "That's more of an October thing" and I was like "Isn't it still October??? I know you have XMAS stuff on the shelves but we are technically still in that month, right?"

[Posted by Bearette's husband until she has Internet access] e was born today! 8 pounds even, a cute and healthy baby boy. He likes to stick out his tongue just a little, and move his mouth around. Eventful

A lot has happened today already. I went to meet D for lunch and along the way I spotted a Boston terrier -- one blue eye, one brown. I stooped to pat it and then I heard an ear-bruising screech!! Everyone's head whipped around. Even the dog jumped. A taxi had squealed to a halt and there was a delivery boy on its hood. Somebody yelled, "Call an ambulance!" The boy seemed fine, even hopping on his bike to finish his deliveries -- but everyone persuaded him to stay. I took out my cell phone but another woman was already giving details to 911. After the woman finished the call, I was satisfied that help was on its way, so I continued. There were a bunch of rubberneckers/supporters gathered around the boy, so he wasn't alone. The dog stayed too. I was shaken by this, of course, but then something amusing happened.
