Eric wanted me to stay longer in London. I wish I had; it was hard coming back. At home, I was hit with some severe annoyance. On the plus side, I stayed calm (outwardly) and did not escape to the forest. Once I sent Eric a meme about people running to the forest. He wrote, “Mom: returns from the forest because they have no iced coffee.” 😂

Also on the plus side, I liked Season 3 of Nobody Wants This. It reminds me of a Woody Allen movie (without the bad connotations): quirky, neurotic characters; clever dialogue; and lots of juicy misbehavior. It’s unusual in the sense that I prefer the side characters. I like Noah and Joanne well enough, but I really get invested when Sasha, Morgan and Esther show up. (Randomly, Esther reminds me of Alanis Morrissette.)

Vegetable personalities

At the risk that you'll all think I'm nuts...but heck. I was getting cauliflower ready for dinner and it occurred to me that vegetables have different personalities. In my mind, anyway. Zucchini: the most agreeable of vegetables. It blends in with everyone, but it's never obsequious or false to itself. Sweet potatoes: the grandmother of vegetables. Very cozy and welcoming. All right, I'm just going to spit it out. My news = I'm pregnant. 12 weeks today. Made it through the first trimester, some scary genetic testing, and now I just have my Down test to get through. If that goes well (it's a two-part test that takes a few weeks), I think I can finally relax. My odds are low. The test was optional so I seriously considered not taking it, but every single person whose advice I sought said she would take it, so I'll do it. It's funny, I watched Rosemary's Baby last night (I've seen it before, but now I'm watching it with new eyes) and I couldn't help spotting all the infractions. She drank a shake with raw egg every day, drank some champagne when she got pregnant, and her husband smoked Pall Malls around her. I guess there are tradeoffs.
